Theresa Quaintance Nagbe was born on May 16, 1955, in Augusta, Georgia. She peacefully departed this life on October 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, faith, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Theresa spent her early years in Corona, Queens, New York, before making East Elmhurst her lifelong home at the age of 18. It was there that she built a life filled with meaningful experiences, lasting relationships, and treasured memories. Theresa valued education and hard work. She attended Hillcrest High School, where she played volleyball and was part of the photography club. She continued her educational journey at Queens College, where she earned her degree in nursing.
Theresa dedicated many years of her professional life to the New York State Office of Mental Health. Through her hard work, perseverance, and dedication, she steadily rose through the ranks, ultimately serving as a Risk Management Specialist. In 2018, she retired after an extraordinary 38 years of service, a testament to her professionalism, commitment, and the lasting contributions she made throughout her career.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a proud and devoted member of Galilee Baptist Church of Christ in Bayside, New York. Her connection to her church was a meaningful part of her journey, providing a place of fellowship, worship, and spiritual grounding. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Theresa knew how to enjoy life and embrace the things that brought her happiness. She had a love for cooking, and the kitchen was one of the places where she could express herself and share her enjoyment of good food. She also loved dancing, embracing the rhythm and joy that music brought into her life. Later in life, Theresa developed a love for traveling, creating new experiences and enjoying opportunities to explore beyond familiar surroundings.
Theresa is survived by her son, Sadiki; granddaughter, Blythe and her sister, Mary . Though her earthly journey has come to an end, Theresa's memory will continue to live on through the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the legacy she leaves behind. She will be remembered with love, honor, and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
